What kind of city do you want to live in? 

It is important that mayoral candidates share their ideas, visions and proposals with us. But it is equally – if not more important – that our future leaders listen to us. So Good London is about asking: What is your vision for this city? How do you think power should be organised? What about housing and transport? What do you think about inequality? How does money work? What about migration and moving in and through our city? Can citizens participate more in decisions that impact our lives? Do you want to?

This is a space for you to share your ideas and help shape the conversation about London. 

Good London is collecting ideas from individuals and civil society groups from across London to start creating a shared story of what our city could be. You can see some of these ideas and add your own here.  

Over the past months, we have worked with civil society groups to develop visions for housing, democracy, finance and migration. We have heard from individuals and groups from across London. On April 9th, we came together for We the City to iron out these ideas and turn them into more concrete proposals, to learn from each other and from cities around the world, and to have a frank conversation between hopeful mayors and hopeful Londoners about this great city that we all call home.

A final version of a Londoner’s vision for London will be shared with the new Mayor, Greater London Assembly members and other organisations and groups working to make London a city that works for all its citizens. It will offer a blueprint for the conversation to continue and to hold our next Mayor and Assembly members to account. London is our city, and we need to make sure it becomes a city that puts all of us first.
